3 questions for anyone that owns either model (or both).
- I purchased both several yrs ago (around $25 each). Very nice heavy duty folders, but both have sticky triad locks that can be a pain to disengage. I kept both partially open in 90 degree position for almost a year and it seemed to help a little. Will the triad locks smoothen out over time?
- Any recommendations for someone that makes custom scales for these 2 models (someone trustworthy/reputable)
- How much are these 2 models worth now...I know this is a very subjective question. But wondering if there is a ballpark figure.
Thank you in advance

I have them both. I have done nothing special to them and the locks have eased up a bit. I don't really mind a bit of effort as everything about them is tough. I'm not being sarcastic or rude to you buddy, just honest. They are tough little folders. I used a soldering iron to melt little divots in the slippery grips. Then when they cooled I scraped the ridges off with another knife. I have little to no interest in their monetary value, so I can't help you there.

No offense taken at all...and thank you for the reply. I was surprised how cheap they were at the time. My only guess is that they didn’t sell well due to the faux stag scales, so the large price drop.

own a few of both models when they went to close out status years back. all had locks that couldn't be unlocked with using a table edge to depress the lock. left half open for long while and was able to do without table edge. over time they have eased up more to be easier to do.

no idear on scales or value?

Yes, both were very difficult to close when I first received them. My thumb actually started to hurt when depressing the unlocking mechanism, LOL! Keeping them open definitely helped. Maybe I should keep them partially opened for another year:)
