Has anyone here built and used this grinder from the plans off ebay? How well would wooden wheels work? Can it produce a good hollow grind? Thanks.

I bought the plans and materials from Mack around the time Narnia came out in the theaters last year- Since I didn't have to go to the local junk yard or Lowe's, etc for the materials, things went fairly quickly. It was easier than welding up a platform for our golf cart. Mack supplied the wooden wheels and included plans for making the wheels- the plans work well. The wheels he supplied work well- a lot of thought has gone into his designs. Mack will help you with any questions you have and is a great guy. I got a little concerned when the wheels heated up the first time, but they still work perfectly. The 8" large wheel attachment makes a nice hollow grind but I prefer flat grinding. I have a big, obnoxious baldor 2hp motor driving it- it really removes metal.
