with all the micro stuff spyderco has been releasing with the pm3 and lil native, nilakka, lionspy and temperance. Why not ”macroatize” something.....like the jester.
The jester has a very unique profile that I’m drawn to and I do own one but it just gets no companionship because of its size. What would get a jester into my pocket? Maybe a hulking transformation to the dragonfly class or another step up comparable to the delica. I’d be all over this in frn, maybe even in the salt line.
Would this peak any interest or is this a far reach?

I always thought of the ATR as the giant Jester.

The tip is kind of different on the ATR. The shinogi (ridge that separates flat from main bevel.)

I always thought the Stretch was sort of the big brother to the Jester.

I was happy to see the Shaman which is essentially a large Native. Good looking knife. Can't wait for the Chief.

I'd like more "bigger" versions of current models too :

- Yojimbo2
- Dodo
- Vrango

All 3 models mentioned are close to a jester In essence, but Stretch has a finer tip and is bit too large for me. ATR again too large at 3.5” plus the top side swedging doesn’t do it for me. The ocelot is probably the closest but looks to have more belly than the jester. Plus it’s discontinued.
I’m imagining a scaled up proper jester measuring a blade length of 2.25” - 3”
But seeing the on off production of the jester maybe it’s just not a desired setup

yeah I always kind of thought that myself. The overall blade design and geometry of the Jester is remarkably similar to the ATR models. You just have to believe that they are both Spyderco "IN HOUSE" designs. I really liked the ATR in Spyderedge especially.

I like this idea. However, I would also like to see another sprint run of Jesters in CF, micarta or the gray G-10 again.
