Thanks! These are some of my favorite knives to make. They're a little more complicated than my other stuff. Makes me feel like a mad scientist when I'm putting all the little parts together!

Love the old school homage!
Thanks, that's definitely where we put a lot of attention. I personally love the old school knives, & these days it seems most people are just water jetting blanks and screwing G-10 onto them. They're very efficient and cost effective, but we like incorporating soldered brass guards with classic styles into contemporary combat, survival, and hunting knives.

My apologies for dredging up an old thread. But lately I have been giving some thought to picking up a SOG 5th SF S1 Bowie. But when I see where they have gotten to price wise. It occurs to me I could have one of Matt's MacV Bowies.

I have several older SOG knives. The Seki and earlier quality suit me fine. Also this would be a user for me. It almost seems a shame to put an older S1 to work.

Just sort of thinking out loud. At this point. I own one of Matt's knives, and have another one on order. I like that he has followed the lines of the SOG knives and the full tang couldn't hurt.

Love to see a side by side, but I doubt anyone has one at this point. And having handled the old S1, I was curious about the balance.
