I picked up the two with the white / ivory color handles recently, so I am putting up a picture of them all. I have a few Tridents from SOG knives and a couple of customs but , this post is just these related companies. I think they were probably all made at Bark River.

One small point. MACV (Military Assistance Command Vietnam) was huge organization, and to my knowledge there was not a "MACV" type knife. These are SOG (Studies and Observation Group) type knives, the original was designed by my good friend, the late Conrad "Ben" Baker (RIP). John
I see them labeled often as macvsog knives...always thought that was the right name for these blade shapes....

Defiant 7 has a Vehement-designed Mk3-SOG mashup out now that is super nice. If you miraculously ever got a Vehement custom MACV-SOG, that's a thing of beauty as well.
got one of those, good knife.....

I got the Elishewitz clip point version and then shortly after that the VK version dropped, but I was broke. 😞
like that one too.....but reminded me of my Buck 119/120s. I also got the m320g version. also great knife. I just skipped the E.

Was that the original bayonet point one?
think so..also had g10 handles and n690 steel....newer version is 3v and polymer handle deal like others.....

sorry to op for getting off topic.....

Made me curious . Found this to be interesting :

"Fact checked " by an AI , so must be true . ;)

I'm considering getting one. Only thing that stinks, imo, is the use of titanium for the guard and butt plate.
Even grade 5 Ti is soft (like aluminum) in comparison to stainless.
How gripping is the polymer handle using bare hands, wet?

I like sharp pointy diamond knurling grips
its not bad. I wouldn't call it super shred grippy by any means. very mild. the shape of the swelling of the handle along with the lighter texture seems good enough to me.

Have you experienced failure of Ti to perform in such applications ?

I've only had Ti on folder scales and other undemanding roles .

But, I see it being used now for knife and sword blades , and even axe / hatchet heads . IDK . 🤔

Titanium comes in Many alloys. I have a titanium machete. I've have to get the edge how I like it, but now it's holding its own. I've chopped a Lot of stuff.
It's Not soft like aluminum.

My experience with 6AI4V is with aircraft landing gears. Soft as it scratches and marring easier than mild tempered steel.

Try carrying your Ti scales knife in your back pocket along with another tool, like a small open/box end chrome wrench, or a screw driver plastic handle while working on your vehicles.

I can't imagine a Ti hatchet head being practical. It wouldn't hold an edge for long, especially during heavy chopping.

For the most part, imo, Ti use on edged weapons, and the ridiculous lil pry bars, it's a "tacticool" sales strategy.

Most pro Ti framing hammers have hardened steel faces... Just saying

That's exactly right .
I made the mistake of saying Ti is no big deal to thread ; in a thread D Diemaker was watching .
He set me right with , I might add , much patience .

PS : I attempted to do the cool guy link for Diemaker but failed .
anybody willing to tell me how that is done ?
