I just got my very first friction folder from MacWasil knives!
With his big brother.

This was my second business with Válcav after my very enjoyable first deal for the Ti frame lock. He posted his sales thread for a friction folder which was sold out immediately. I was second to offer but too late. He then offered me his second one which was not completed at the time. He finished it right away and shipped it to me. What a swell guy!

The knife is cute and adorable.

The titanium jigged handle gives a very nice feeling to eyes and hands. With the brass pins, the knife looks very elegant. The etched (?) finish on the blade around the pivot area gives a classic touch as if it is a carbon steel.

The blade is with a very fine satin finish, which goes well with the handle and gives a good contrast to the etched area.

It has a nice backspacer.

And Válcav put my name on it inside. Thanks!

Overall, I am very satisfied with this knife. The fit and finish is perfect. The action was gritty at the beginning, but now very smooth after a break-in period. I can easily open and close it in one-hand. Still, it is tight enough not to open accidentally.

I have been thinking that I need good 3~4 inches for a blade and a lock mechanism for EDC. But after having this mini friction folder, I am now thinking that this may be enough for daily carry, although I am sure that I will keep buying frame lock knives, anyway……

I love the big-brother, too! That knife is extremely well crafted to the point that it seems unreal. I am kind of spoiled with it, such that I am more hesitant buy knives from other makers.

There is also something addictive in the little one, too. Probably the smooth action and the handle texture.
Come to think of it, he has a couple of his new friction model on sale!
