It is looking like a strong possibility. Initial specs mentioned by Mad Dog were a 6+" spearpoint blade with composite handles. Latchless initially, latch eventually. No mention of price yet.

Kevin is doing a balisong? I gotta have one, I just gotta have one.

The only problem will be how to x-ray the tang

Oh yeah, count me in........ but I guess I'll have to wait for the latched version.

Cool, add another maker to the list.

Oh boy, I'll have to get another job to buy all these knives!
Noooo!!! I just tried to go to tactical forums and they are having computer problems. Now I will have to wait to get the facts straight from the dog's mouth.

They've gotta start somewhere don't they??

I just mean: what are the handles going to look like? Are they going to be wood with bone (hence "composite")?

All Kevin has said up to now is that the blade profile will be similar to the Voodoo Child. So Picture a Voodoo Child with a butterfly handle, if you can. It will be big.

When Kevin says composite, I assume he means the glass epoxy composite he currently uses for his handles.

He mentioned BIG pins, and then encountered computer troubles that have prevented him from elaborating much on the project.

Keep an eye on the Mad Dog Knives forum at www.tacticalforums.com.

Oh, and keep in mind that Mad Dog is Mad Dog. For example it wouldn't surprise me in the least if somebody asked him if he would soften his heat treatment for the butterfly, as some makers do in case it gets dropped, and he replied, don't drop it. You get the idea. It will be a Mad Dog butterfly, and completely killer.
