Hey,
What makes a Mad Dog Knife worth $5K? I'm not saying they aren't worth it or anything as I have no idea but I saw a couple at Steel Addiction going for thousands and I've never seen another one go for as much. Are the ones there super rare?

Just wondering  ,

What model have you seen for $5000? I though most were around $700-$1200.

Forgot to add; this could get ugly (but interesting, none the less)!

There are a couple of ATAK's which may be part of the first run he did for the SEAL's as I recall because they have spine work which he mentioned that he dropped after the first few. So yes, the rarity is driving them up significantly. The standard ones go for a few hundred. Ask on his forum and he can probably give you the exact details on the when and where of each knife.

I think the big one like the Saxon Sword are $3000 or around there. It all depends on what it is worth to you.

don't forget about him being a 14 year old CIA operative... that raises the price as well. ;)

I hadn't heard that one. Is it true or bs?

It is true he said it and more besides do a search for the book "Dark Genius".

I did a search for "Dark Genius" and this is what I came up with. Is this what you meant, Cliff? ;)

"The Wisdom of Big Bird (and the Dark Genius of Oscar the Grouch)"

I like Mad Dog knives, but wouldn't pay $5000.00 for one. I have never owned one, but did get the chance to handle a couple. The handles were a perfect fit for my hand and produced no pressure points that would cause hot spots and blistering. These knives were basically new and were very sharp. I didn't get the chance to put them through any paces, so I can't say how well the edge would hold up.

The only thing I didn't like was the hard chrome coating. I prefer the look of naked steel myself.
