Can someone please tell me if there is a website for Mad Dog knives ? If not, then is there a dealer with a good selection and pictures ?
Thank you, Donald.

PS- Happy Holidays by the way !

Hey guys, I am honestly not trying to stir up any poo-poo, I am really curious as to what makes this knife worth $2,100.

I honestly don't get it. Do you even understand what you COULD buy for $2,100?

I am looking for actual reasons here and not Mad Dog flames, please. Thanks.

I see what you mean, hey, c'est la vie !!
Although what gets me about that particular ad is the term "short sword", I mean is it a short sword or a big, long knife ?? When does one become the other ??

PS- Jonny, your site is great, lots of info !

Donald.

The longer the blade, the harder it is to grind the blade straight, and keep it straight after heat treating. It is nearly an exponential curve. This is why the hefty price for the short sword.

MD is making a short sword for Tim Tang, the Taiwanese dealer; St. Teryl tells me it is coming along well; so well, in fact, that MD is loathe to part with it.

BTW; the server for Tactical Forums is still down, as the server to whom they were going to switch turned out to not be capable of handling the Forum. TF should be back on line shortly. Walt

Walt,

You're right. Kevin is making a custom piece called "Typhoon" for me. It is 14" long like the Morro but is cut from wider stock (2") and has a long false edge that's a wee bit different than the usual MD false edge. This knife is also a lot more expensive than the Morro due it's difficulty in grinding and heat treating.

I'll have plenty of pictures up on my site once I get my Christmas gift.

Donald,

A simple criteria to separate knives and swords is blade length. Blades shorter than 12.5" are knives and those longer than 12.5" are swords.
