HA! Quite a while ago, I sent off a small forged ti sword experimental blade to a fellow who wanted to make his own scabbard and handle. Never heard back or saw the finished result. Turns out he did a real nice job, and even gave the blade a habaki.

I just saw that he used the blade in a youtube video to hack at some chainmail! :D It makes me happy so see one of my blades out there in the world just pop up on the ol' interwebz like this. :D

The Ti blade is here, to stay.
Jason Wilder just made me a Hartsfield-style Titanium kozuka. I'll get a pic up.
Thanks, Sam.

From Maille Tec Industries in Canada. I wonder what the wire size is? It looks like a fun time but hardly representative of anything other than sumpthin' to do. Welded rings but skinny round wire and big diameter rings. The company looks huge.

There had been Victorian and later sword burnishing tools that were pretty much the same dealio.

The sword looks great. Adding a habaki above and beyond. Had you already ground the hamachi and munemachi (blade shoulders) or did the fellow grind those in? Inquiring minds and all that. We need a closer look :)

Cheers

Sam lives! Nice video.. was hoping to see a link with a new blade being made though! Hope summer has been kind to you sir!

Thanks for looking fellas, lol. Yes, I was also checking out the nice open clean studio. I didn't know the gent was into making internet vids, he just thought a little ti sword sounded like fun. It was very nice of him and his cohort lady to mention where he got the thing though! :D

The blade's shoulders were already cut, and I think I remember being super apologetic about forgetting to drill the peg hole in the tang, not that it's hard to do. :[]

I'll try to get ahold of him and get a closer look.

Sloth357: I have been making blades and staying busy. Not much for photographs and videos lately, but soon I'll post up a little thread about this one that's almost done, small but fine:

Thanks Lycosa, #1 ti sword fan!

Don't scrub cast iron, esp for camping. Let it build up a layer of carbon for rust prevention.
