I forgot to mention that I saw a Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx at the Solvang show and I'm not sure if it was a Camillus or an original, but it seems to me that you'd have a hard time finding a pocket deep enough for that thing. It seems like more of a folding sword than a pocket knife. It looks like it even dwarfs the mighty Rekat Sifu.

Truly amazing.

My new Cuda Maxx slips into my pocket(s) easily and carries very well. It seems like a much smaller, lighter knife and disappears easily.

What you probably saw is a 7 inch Madd Maxx. I have one of those with carbon fiber scales and a Bowie blade and would agree with you. It's just too big to fit in any pocket. I finally had Kenny Rowe build me a sweet small-of-the-back custom carrying rig and that is definitely the way to go. I've removed the now-useless clip from the Madd Maxx and use the rig exclusively; it makes the Madd Maxx into a compact package that opens into a big, nasty surprise.

I never found my Sifu uncomfortable for pocket carry, so I may not be the best judge, but...

The CUDA Maxx is actually a bit thinner and lighter than the Sifu. Standard front pocket clipped carry works quite nicely for me.

ditto, have 2 sifus and carried 1 of them quite a lot, no probs at all, same w/the maxx 5.5, it is thinner/liter than the sifu, carry mine all the time when biking IWB in some nylon biking shorts, other than getting sweaty (gotta clean/oil it off pretty often, waited a couple of days and it had a little rust on it) no probs at all, also carries great in my front right jeans pocket, or IWB, a great knife imho, i want a custom DDR maxx, am saving up now........it certainly is a lot of knife for the $$
