I'm interested in the Madden Daylite and the Patrol, does anyone have any experience with one or both? I'm looking for a bag to switch to when something less tactical is called for. The Daylite seems right up my alley while the Patrol looks nice, but may be a bit too small for a sling type bag.

Shawn - Very different bags. I have lots of experience with both as I've worked for the company for about 25 years. Patrol was designed for ski patrol - lots of pockets and loops for first aid equipment. It's also been used by outdoor ed instructors and guides as first aid kit for many years. It's pretty big for a waist pack/slingbag - the internal pocket can fit an iPad Mini. I use it when I don't need to carry a laptop or a hydration reservoir. But, it was designed as a waist pack first - so, it doesn't have a defined single shoulder strap like a true sling bag. Daylite is solid day pack with a few good size zipper storage pockets and a hydration/laptop sleeve. It's a soft pack (no frame sheet) with a slight contour in the back panel that's designed to wrap around the body. The bottom panel is a double layer of Cordura. Both bags will last a long, long time.
