Hey guys, I am new here, I have been working on straight razors for a while, I restore them and have made some. I wanted to try to make a knife for kicks.

I used 01 tool and heat treated in a crude forge

Perfect? Not even close.

Learned a ton, next time would not make a notch, really tough to sand in there.

Also would sand and polish the handles much more before epoxying in place

Good first knife. Beat the crap out of and see how it performs so you can make improvements on the next one. This is where everyone starts.

Welcome to the forum.

To sand in that notch, wrap some sandpaper around a chainsaw file and roll .

Good first knife

Be creative,
Cut a slot down the length of the dowel, insert sand paper and wrap around dowel.

Then insert it into a variable speed hand drill , or drill press and let the machine do the work.
