I got the 684 last year for Father’s Day. I didn’t particularly care for the sheath. I prefer a higher riding sheath. And I was thinking, to make the 684 fit into my carry rotation I needed to have a more concealed carry style sheath.

I’ve always thought it’d work well with a pocket clip sheath but I decided to go ahead with a belt sheath. Partly because I didn’t have a suitable clip and partly because this little edge piece of scrap leather I used was just big enough for a test sheath to prove the style, ride height, good enough retention, and so forth.

I’ve not worn it yet but will tomorrow I think. Just in handling and carrying in my back pocket, it’s much better. I often carry the 684 around the farm here just stuck in my back pocket.

I guess I’ll probably make something similar for the 135 I’ve been working on a couple years. ( It has been shelved several times.). https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/my-135-not-caper.1879748/

Sweet. Looks like nice light carry combo. Should serve you well.

Nice! I recently dipped my toe into the leather craft world, and made a sheath for my 639 Fieldmate. It's OK for my first try, I guess, but a little rough around the edges. Sort of like a girl I used to date......not real pretty, but totally functional.

A coat of Johnson’s paste wax makes anything look better....

Well after carrying it a couple days, the sheath loosened up too much. Think I’ll take one of the spacers out of the edge side. Should tighten it up just enough I think.

I also want more of a sweat guard. I made it this size because that’s all the leather I could squeeze out of my piece.

If I can get the retention better, it’ll do a spell. Otherwise, least I have a starting point for the next one.

Here we go, stitches removed, one spacer removed, glued and clamped. Luckily, I had stopped my stitches there because I underestimated my thread length, otherwise instead of just cutting the thread I’d had to unstitched and back stitched at least three.
