They have a deal going thru Memorial Day......10 percent off for all military (active or retired, just show the ID card).

So, I finally own the S30V 110 Alaskan Guide Model.

Made them get out what they had in stock so I could choose one.......I know, I know, we all do that, right?

They only had five of them.

I found some nice wood.

Had $13 in points, so it became a $46 knife.

A little Mink Oil on the sheath, a little Brasso on the brass and a touch of Rem-oil........wow--stunning.

One beautiful knife and it will be my EDC from here on out.

I may have to make more purchases before this special deal is over.

Hey, tomorrow is garage sale day.....plus I need to get in a practice session at the range because I'm going for a CCP class on Sunday at Cabela's (unless it gets rained out) and I have a Dr. appointment and my CZ75 has been failing to extract about every seven rounds and I don't know if it's cheap ammo or a real problem (trying it tomorrow with different ammo and if that doesn't work I have to switch to my S&W 686 for Sunday) and I have grocery shopping and a trip to the local gunshop (the one where I found the 1999 120 for $51 recently) and I'm making chicken soup and....... I suppose I SHOULD actually do some work around the house.......but I'll try for a pic.

Who said retirement was boring?

Yes, all the chopping is done with a 119......onions, carrots, etc., although today I may have to see if the S30V does a better job slicing chicken.

Got to check my garage sale ads now!!!

:D

The S30V does a great job slicing chicken, squirrels, rabbit, even the heads off catfish. Love th Ag 110 .

Thanks, here's that pic.

In person, it's a very pretty knife (and I hear it's really tough, too).

:)

ROC,

Are the bolsters brass or nickel? Your first post said something 'bout cleaning the brass but the photo sure looks like nickel to me. We have no Cabela's anywhere near me so I cant go look. Maybe you would pick me one up and ship at my expense?? Great deal at $46!!

HOE3

The bolsters are brass. I find that brass bolsters often look like nickel in photos.......not just mine--most everybody's show up that way......Idunno why.

My cost was with my Cabela's points and my 10 percent military discount, so I can't do it again. The military discount is a Memorial Day special for active and retired military.

I'm assuming they won't honor the Memorial Day thing through their website, but I don't know.

Sorry, Trax......I never meant any harm. Chicken soup is just one of those facts of life.

(That AG sliced the ........ um.....non vegetable ingredient, like it was butter.)

Actually, it's a little thick to be a really good slicer. It's a big strong knife.....a I still need to find a cheap 121 for that kind of stuff.
