Somewhere, Codger ( I think) posted a list of Schrade subcontract brands. My search skills are about equivalent to a bag of sticks; I cannot find that list. Would one of you kind souls point me to it?
Here are some recent finds of known patterns, one of which is stamped Schrade and etched "Craftsman". The others are stamped Shapleigh, KeenKutter and Primble. I'd like to see more obscure ones if anyone has any??? Please show and tell!

Well, the KK stockman and the KKcongress have different tang stamps. The others are spitting images of Schrades I have!

I am glad you are on the ball, knifeaholic (unlike myself). Fortunately, I can send the stockman back, as I have these knives on approval. I am looking for Schrade-made only.
Here's one more, a Maher & Grosh that looks very much a Schrade.

Comments please!

Well yes it is the KK's that I am talking about - Camillus tooling and bone all the way. Those are all (including the KK's) completely AWESOME knives.

I have been intending to put together and post a list of all of the Schrade made contract knives that I know of based on "reading" many knives pver the years. I will get around to it soon.

Can't wait!!

Charlie,
Let me know what you find out about the Maher & Grosh. I have one that is a great knife with wonderful steel. I thought it might be a Schrade but wasn't sure.

Will do, Dale. What does yours look like?

Here are a couple of Craftsmen as well that I just picked up. The one on the bottom resembles a 34OT and is marked 95234, which makes sense. The one on top resembles an 8OT but is marked 9502. Was there any rhyme or reason to how they marked these?

Sears did not uses the Schrade numbering system to base their number on.
Totally seperate numbering system.
There is a rhyme to it but each compamy sang its own song.

Here is my Maher & Grosh

Here is the tang

Here are a couple I think were made by Schrade.
One is a Craftsman the other is a Powrcraft, made for Montgomery Wards.

The Maher & Grosh sure looks like a Schrade, Dale! So does the lower right knife (craftsman?).
Not sure about the round bolstered stockman though.

This is an Ulter 88. Pretty sure it's a dead ringer for the Craftsman. I have several other Ulsters with the same shaped shield as the Craftsman. Look at the blade profiles. My picture doesn't show it well, but the spey has that little flat diagonal side on the top.
