So, started with my bacon... Diced it up with the new knives

Took my tri-tip steak and butterflied it so I had a nice size steak instead of a small but thick steak!

Next cut the asparagus and the polenta into slices

Fried the polenta in the left over bacon fat, recycling and all that save the earth jazz

After dropping the asparagus into the boiling water, then the ice bath, I tossed it into a pan with some olive oil, some garlic, some lemon pepper

Topped the polenta with blue cheese and bacon, then topped the steak similarly, and the asparagus stood alone

Serve with Yuengling and enjoy!

Looks pretty tasty! I never knew you could get polenta in a sausage roll. :). It's actually pretty simple to make...if you have the time.

Oh man that looks good. Dang!

Use less fat when you fry your polenta and you can get a better texture - I love it crunchy outside, soft inside. Otherwise, spot on and I wish I lived where they cut tri tip steaks.

Polenta = grits = corn meal mush all variations on the same basic corn meal item

Nice, I'll have to check Trader Joe's next time I'm in the area. The whole meal looks awesome...and I'm still full from breakfast.

Basically, polenta is cornbread...but denser. Typically it's just cornmeal, butter, salt and water for boiling it all down into a thick paste. There are tons of varieties to add to it, since it's such a simple base to start with. You can add cheeses, spices, onoins, garlic... You fry it until browned when you serve it. Good stuff.
