Nice Knife! What is your handle made of? As far as listing your knives, read some of the threads and you'll kind of get the drift of it. Read the threads by the administrators on the knife selling forums and you'll be on your way....Franco

I say there Hoss,

That is a fine looking blade you have. Is that Buffalo Horn?

Usually folks here like to know what the steel is, how long the overall length is, and how long the cutting edge is. The more info you can give, the more folks appreciate it.

Since you paid for the "Knifemaker" status, you might want to think about changing your name on the forums from "mykulmorris" to your real name. Just a thought, but folks who buy knives here really want to know who they are dealing with.

This is a great place to learn and share information. By the way, welcome to the forums. Sit back and enjoy the ride of your life.

Again, fine job, and that sheath looks great also.

I really like knives made from files and rasps. the texture really makes me smile. Nicely done.

That's a nice welcome Mr. Dark!
I'll second it, that's a clean looking blade.

Very nicely done. First knife I've seen from you and I hope to see more.

Very appealing knife and sheath

Thanx for the kind words!!! I'll be putting more pics on shortly, both here and in the 'for sale' area.

Michael, I've been thinking about using files for a while. How do you make your holes for your mosaic pins? I've tried modifying a couple of knives I had picked up over time and never had any luck drilling new holes, always had to settle with what was already there. Do you re-heat? Any help would be awesome...Gary

Gary...
I use carbide drills. Also I temper down the file b4 I do anything. Just put it in your oven at 550 degrees for 2 hours and then let the oven cool normally, this will bring the rc from mid 60's to high 50's (57-59), then don't let the blade overheat while your working on it, I don't reheat. ANZA knives in Cal. uses only files to make all of theirs, they make some great blades. I've had scores of old timers swear by the file knives, high carbon steel.

Thanks Michael, Any information I get is helpful. I've got a supply of O1 coming soon so in the interm, I really wanted to try a file. I have a small brick forge that I can get to over 1800F and I thought I would just anneal the file, grind it, then re-temper as needed. Your process using carbides might be a quicker option. Since your reheat only drops rockwell down to 57-59, where I have most of my blades, that might be my best bet. i don't know if my wife will like the idea of me baking knives....Gary
