Hey folks,
Just getting started here and anxiously awaiting my (new to me) XM-18. Been a CRK guy for awhile and was introduced to Hinderer a couple of months ago. I did a lot of research before investing in these spendy pieces and couldn't believe there are all these fakes being produced in China now. I have always invested in Made in USA and Made in Canada Tooling - Bridge City Tools (PDX), Lie Nielsen, Sage and Burkie fly fishing rods, Abel reels, etc...etc....so this post is definitely NOT trying to feed the fake factories. Just wondering if there's anything anyone can do to stop it. I just sent a link to a fake online seller to CRK and they are going to work on taking the site down. I guess what prompted this posting is that in the classifieds I just saw a guy from China trying to buy an XM-24. Now sure, it MIGHT be an expat in Beijing or Shanghai who likes knives...but....I would encourage anyone here NOT to sell to mainland China. How do these mofos produce such exact replicas? They must have samples for sure. I also wanted to say this forum has been a great resource during my research so thanks to all the members.

Welcome and congrats on the incoming but this will go nowhere good.

In the interest of General Info. WE all have an admiration for quality knives or we wouldn't be here.
Many have discovered the fine offerings of the Hinderer Brand and that is why they are here.
The subject of "Fakes" is an emotionally charged and oft repeated debate/discussion - In my experience never going anywhere good.
Stealing someones intellectual property is a serious legal matter and one that Rick and Rob are acutely aware of and address as a matter of their Business - it is not the subject of Forum Fodder.
We can individually "Help" by NOT patronizing sites, Forums, or vendors that would deal with thieves and fakes.
Genuine Hinderer Products can be acquired:
- Through Hinderer directly (If one qualifies, specifics are listed in a sticky on the top of the main page of this forum)
- Through Lottery at a Knife Show that Hinderer is in attendence OR here on BF when a lottery is held.
- Through an Authorized Dealer (listed on Hinderers website)
- Here on BF in the Exchange from a reputable Member.

I think I speak for many when I say We wish Rick and Rob and the Hinderer crew ALL the best and Thank them for what they do.
They certainly have support from many many loyal followers.
