It was a fun day, Dan. Very good to meet you finally. Been a lot of years.
Great weather. Made the about-2-hour drive with no problems, in spite of everything Google Maps could do to prevent it.
It was my first knife show. I could have mortaged the house 7 times over on just one circuit of the rooms. Amazing collection of art and talent. Very nice people, too. Every one of the makers said it was OK to pick up/touch the knives, without being asked.
Spent over an hour with Dan and his wife Wendy. She has good taste in mysteries (Dan Brown). Was great to spend the time talking to Dan, learning about some of his current projects, reminiscing about knives we have known,...
I bought a couple of the new K3 kardas, like the ones pictured here:

Also got one of the 'ulu-inspired' (perhaps) knives that he is currently forging. I REALLY like this thing: he kept the forge scale everywhere except the edge which, as you would expect, cut you if you looked at it too hard. Lots of fun to use. There's a picture if it somewhere on the HI forum, but I can't find it at the moment.
