Can't wait to see some pictures, sounds like an awesome time.

Hi were are you in SA? A 45 minute flight sounds like Durban (if you are in Durbs there is a nice knife show on this weekend).
Are you going to be in Cape Town? Shoot me a message if you head my way. If you need any help with anything don't hesitate to ask........

Have fun and be safe.........:)

Dang Brendan, you need a pickup truck for all that gear. How did your wounds heal up, bet you got some pretty good scars.

Have a nice time, Brendan, and be sure to post some photos!
Would be nice to see some familiar places...

How are the Maxp. duffels behave under the SA luggage-handler's hands?

Have fun Brendan and remember S.A. is somewhere where you need to be careful .... but can still have a great time

Thanks for your kind words mate, Durbs it is (Ballito actually). Where's this knife show?

Wounds are good thanks - lumpy thumb and some shiny skin is the only tell tale signs

I will mate, maxp stuff doesn't have a scuff on it - I was doubtful but they held up very well (considering they were packed with about 25kg each, 15 for the smaller ones)

Have fun Brendan and remember S.A. is somewhere where you need to be careful .... but can still have a great time

Cheers fella

Hey Brendan .... I did'nt know you were going for good  Or for that matter that it was originally "home" ... I take it you were born over there?

If you ever go down the Garden Route and can stop off in George there is a gunsmith's/fishing tackle shop ran by a guy who is ex SA S/F and if you want to meet someone who has a few "wounds" to amaze you have a chat with him  He holds the record for me .... I've never met anyone who has survived more multiple hits with an AK47 .... his combat jacket is or was pinned up on the wall of the shop showing the holes .... a truly lucky guy .... and it's a good place to look for a pistol for personal protection ... and he would help you with the paper work too. He took one round through the face ... in one cheek and out the other ... he has lop sided teeth from the bullet path .... amazing he survived really ... and he has some cracking tales to tell if the shop's not busy :D:thumbup:

Stay in touch on here and let us know how you get on ....

Brendan, good to know that you and the girls made it safely. Best of luck to you and the family! Do you think you will be able to spend less time on the road and more at home now?

45 minute flight to Durban from where ? From Cape Town ? Because flight from Europe takes much longer. I flew with Quatar Airways from Vienna to Doha (4hrs) and then from Doha to Johannesburg (aprox 11hrs) and from Johannesburg to Cape Town (aprox 50mins).

The Durban Easter Knife Show is being held at the Protea Hotel Umhlanga Ridge. Just down the drag from you......

Unfortunately I won't make it this year but I will be in Jhb for the Guild show in Sept.

I gather you are returning home......Welcome back. I am originally a Durban boy myself so If you need any help with anything please don't hesitate to contact me.

All the best
