I dont have any outdoor pics yet...
Havent even made a sheath yet...
But I do have some Kydex coming in and will get those outdoor pics when I can.

5/32" A2 Steel, RC60, tapered tang, Micarta

very nice...you are good!

Thanks guys for all the nice complements..I will be giving it a good workout this summer. I actually made two...the other has a false edge...it was a bit tougher and I like it without much better

Next I will learn how to make Kydex sheaths

Sexy. What length and what is a "tapered tang?"

Cutting edge is 4 1/2", OAL is 10"
A tapered tang is where the handle part of the knife is flat ground thinner at the end...tapered to the back of the handle. By removing that extra stock you dont lose any strength really and the knife is much lighter. Hope this makes sense.

It also really improves the balance of the knife when done properly. Nice job!

I'm impressed. That's a very nice looking blade. You must have been at this for a while, right?

Thanks for the complements….I wish I could say yes I have been doing this for a while. (off and on for about 5 years, haven’t been able to in 2 years) and I really struggle with some stuff.
I make stuff as I need it or when something hits me and only for myself or sons
I needed a knife and I wanted a Busse BATAC…but could not get one…so I did what I do and just made it. (I do this with Bike parts too)
I think it’s a good thing to make what you carry…carry what you make.
Next is this Kydex stuff then on to a Bird and Trout with a Wharncliffe blade.

I do have a Busse BATAC and it is a wonderful blade, but you have a great blade and the satisfaction of having made it yourself. That must be very rewarding!
