Made meat on monday!! Hasn't been a bad season at all. 16 deer and one coyote!!!

Now you're doing the reverse of what usually happens around here. Typically there are no photos to go with the explanation. Now we have no explanation to go with the photos. What's up? How'd you manage to harvest all those deer? And, how are you going about processing them all into venison? Are you saving any parts other than meat and antler, such as hides, bones, hooves, bladders, etc?

Yes if you get them all lined up like that you could get them all with one shot. You'd have to be real carefull to pick the right bullet for all that penetration !
 
No game warden, I hunt with a bunch of my old DEC buddies, a sheriff and an FBI agent. All on the up and up, I swear;) We have landowner damage permits as well as our own tags. There were 11 of us and we took all 16 in two drives. I was shooting my muzzleloader and I could have taken 3 more easily, but judging by all of the shooting the other guys were doing, I decided I would just run around and keep the deer moving in the right direction. As it was we were dragging till way too late. Not much to tell other than that, I was just a beautiful day with friends spent in some of the most beautiful woods in NY. It certainly did exceed all of our expectations. 7 deer in one day was the previous record. Seems like we just edged that one out:thumbup::eek:

Backstraps??? Are those supposed to be good? I gave those nasty things away and kept the choice lips and eyelids for myself:D:D

Didn't leave the cooler there by accident. I was hoping you would fill it up with handle material and maybe your surface grinder.:thumbup::D

You need to come do that near my house! Our problem is that there all small to medium size and get in the roads!
 
The best steaks on a deer are on the inside of the body cavity. They're even better than the backstraps. There are two small muscles inside towards the ass end of a deer. In Ohio we call them the "dingers". They are the muscles that move the tail of the deer. Very tender and delicious! You only get one meal from each dinger, but ohhhhhhh what a meal!!!!!
