I just made my flight and hotel reservations. I first learned about Busse knives around 6 months ago and as you already know it is a blessing/curse (the best knives I've used but I can't stop buying them). I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, especially Amy who patiently answered a lot of early questions. I will probably bring a bottle of JWB or Lagavulin to properly introduce myself. Who else has made their reservations? Are any HOGS from Chicago also going?

I think I'm just going to sleep in the Pit this year.

Look forward to meeting you BushcraftBrainTrust!!

hmmm, good point. If you stay up till 4 or 5am drinking with Jerry, Cobalt and Tony G, and then need to be at the Busse booth at 9, maybe I should just sleep in the car.

Just in case the resingirls are coming, I made reservations at the Waverly.

Not in Chicago, but definitely going.....I'm already counting down the days. Been far too long since I've enjoyed the wonderful sharp experience of Blade in Atlanta.

Exactly. All you need is a neck pillow, a fleece blanket, and some Wet-Wipes for a quick "shower."

I'm in, but you guys can have the pit, I'm bringing my bride, so hotel reservations already made.

But can't decide whether to fly or drive.... I can't tell you how nervous I get every year when I check my bag with all that INFI!

I wouldn't check INFI in bags unless I had no other options. What I did each year was gauge how much I thought I'd have to ship back, get the stuff and airbill from the hotel's own Fedex counter on Saturday (leaving a little room for whatever I may pick up Sunday) and then have the front desk ship it at O'dark Monday morning since the Fedex desk isn't open for business.

It's always worked perfectly and my blades were back in my hands by 10:00 Tuesday morning.

Do the same in reverse for whatever I want to bring to the show, which is usually very little maybe just a two or three knives.

I just booked my flight using NWA miles. $5 to get to Hot-lanta and back!

Into ATL on the 28th @ 9 a.m.. I should have my rental by 10 a.m., so if you are getting in by then and need a ride up to the Cobb feel free to drop me a PM or email.
(I will be stopping at The Varsity & liquor store on the way.) :D

Let's Drink!

There is also a USPO about 1/2 a mile from the Cobb. I've shipped my blades back with them in the past.

Maybe I can make it down to the Varsity this time, have never been.

I believe some buyers have arranged for Busse staff to take their purchases back to Ohio, and ship out later.

Hey,

so obviously from this post I'm a noob lol- What/where is blade? is there a link for it somewhere on the net? What do you guys do?

Lemme know, all this talk about something I know nothing about is frustrating lol

The Blade Show is in Atlanta, GA on May 29-31 in 2009 and additional info is in the link below. There is also a Blade West in the September.

I rode by there last week and MikeH was already in line.:D:D

It just seems that way, Plucker.

Mike H is soooo tall that when he stands up at home, you could easily think he was already in line ... provided you've got the right sight line.

I mean, I could easily understand your mis-apprehension.:)

What do you guys do?

What do we do?
