Here's some pics of my first blade, I feel very proud to have made it, just needs a little polishing and detail work. Just a simple fixed bade, nothin' fancy. Just a good "all-purpose" knife. My favorite. If you like to know more about my knife, just ask me! Thanks to all my friends here on the forums for the great advice, its really come in handy. Special thanks to Jantz Supply in OK for their awesome blades and supplies, which I used for the knife, and for their prompt delivery and quality of products, definitely my go-to people from now on! Thanks again. The pics aren't the best, except the last two, I had really good lighting. These were taken with my iphone.

Thanks,
Caleb

After I peened the bolsters onto the tang:

Nice! Congrats and enjoy!

When you say "made" I take it you mean "assembled," yes?

Nothing at all wrong with that by the way!

I had to buy all the components, (knife blank, scales, bolsters, etc.) other than the fact that the blade was already done basically, yes I made it. haha I figured since it was my first go at it i would'nt want to go in to deep. If i were to make some for my friends, for instance, I could show them the type of blades I can buy, and pick out, and I could do the work. But, I hope to one day make my own blades, but for right now I think this method is easiest, for me at least. Thanks for the input!

Looks good!!! What kind of wood is that?
I would encourage you to jump right into making the blades! After you make a blade, the handles will seem easy. I've make the blades for all of mine. It's a lot of work but very rewarding! People are really blown away when you tell them that you made the blade.
Just an FYI, people on the forum usually only use the term "make" for when you make the blade also. There is no problem in saying that you make the handle but people like to only use "I made this knife" for when you make everything. This way when you actually start making everything people won't just assume that you only made the handle. Just thought I would explain what marcinek was saying about "make" vs. "assemble". Nothing wrong with starting on just handles (its actually a really good idea), but if you want to call yourself a real "knife maker" you need to go all the way. :)
Keep the pictures of your projects coming!

Good job, looks like a winner and a user, keep up the good work.

Good job caleb! Looks a lot better than my first knife. I agree with da thurmanator, handles are the easy part ;)

Understood! the wood is dymondwood. cocobolo i think. Ive already gotten a couple request from my buddies about making them some blades, so im pretty pumped about that. ive decided that once i get my feet on the ground im gonna dive into making my own blades. Plus im in the process of getting a good belt sander, cant really make my blades without one! i was joking with my buddies today about the prices, i do have to make a little money, so when i make my own blades i promised the prices WILL drop. but since they are my friends, i might do it for free. Thanks for the input man!

Congratulations. The knife has nice lines to it and looks very comfortable to handle. Good luck with it.
