Well after waiting a whole month to get a custom kydex sheath made from CKC and it being the wrong camo color I ordered and also the knife fitting loosely in it about to fall out I decided to start making my own kydex sheaths. Today I finally got in everything I needed to start making some sheaths for my knives. First couple came out pretty good, have to say it went pretty smooth for both, both knives click in nice and tight. Here's some pics,...

Not bad at all for your first efforts! See you did two different styles, do you have a preference now? By doing them yourself, you get to have them made, look, and function just exactly how you think they should. Nice!

Thanks Mike! I'm really digging both styles, seems I used a little less kydex on the taco sheath so I may do a few more of those to conserve material. I do like the additional attachment points on the traditional style sheath though, i'm pretty excited to have done this and really looking forward to doing more.

Those are your first? Geez I quit... my own efforts are not going that well...

Those look great man! I'd have no problem paying for those.

Thanks gruntinhusaybah, I actually made a few more today, one for my bushcraft knife that I made a few months back, I made a couple of ferro rod holders as well, really like how it came out. I've definitely found something else in my knife hobby that I truly enjoy, already got some forest digicam sheets of kydex on the way.

I'm interested in making some Kydex sheaths myself.

Can you send me a link to a resource for how you got started? What tools are needed? Steps? Etc?

Sure, looks like I can't pm you via the site without your email address though. Honestly I watched several different youtube video's and determined what I would ideally need to do it right and nice and ordered the basics off ebay, made my self a nice wood kydex press and ordered the foam, also ordered up a heavy duty eyelet press. It's much simpler then I originally thought it would be. I use .080 kydex, easy to work with and heavy duty, eyelets are available in bags of 100, post up your email and I will shoot you some links and pics of what I use.
