Made my first knife. My 6 yr old helped, and it's for him! What do you think?

Seriously, though, it is very cool. He loves it, and if he shows how to 'use' it responsibly, maybe next year a real deal.

He's already carrying it in his pocket.

Nicely done. My 5 year old likes these wood knife kits. Got him a crkt version....but I did most of the building. Although truth be told...think I enjoyed building it more than he did.

Guilty of the same. This bad boy even has real (albeit wooden) springs like a real trapper. Dad doesn't let the kiddo touch knives yet, but I broke the rules today to show him how real the function is. They make a Canoe model, too. I think it may find its way here too. And what a great tool for teaching knife lessons to your kid, and having a great bonding moment. Everybody with kids needs to do these things with them.

If you wanna introduce him to backlocks, Spyderco makes a wooden Dragonfly kit as well!
