Hey guys, i wanted to post some pics of the knife i'm just finishing up, first one aside from a small kiridashi i tried a few weeks back, i made it from a piece of a pry bar so i'm not sure what sort of steel it is, if anyone has the answer please let me know, anyways i made it using a handheld disc grinder, files and a lot of sanding by hand, it took me the better part of 3 full days to complete to this point. I think i'll put some handle material on it, iv'e never done that before either so i'll post up when i get it finished, let me know what you think!, thanks!

that's actually kinda neat... i could see it being quite useful as an edc blade.

Nice one mate!

Very cool! Im about to start my first little project im pretty excited about.

Im looking to make a similar blade or a kiridashi as well.

Is it as addicting as they say? haha

i just finished heat treating it then sharpening and polishing it back up again, my arms hurt! i really wish i knew what steel this was tho.

Quite impressive.... Looks like a really tough little workhorse knife. I love the thick wide blade.

Great first. Mine were much ugly.

hope you don't mind me asking this dumb question.....if you don't know what steel it is, how did you know how to heat treat it? thanks.

looks good. the effort put in really shows. thanks for sharing.

For your next project, make something very similar to that, with a bit more curve to the edge and a about an inch longer blade, and you'll have a heck of a skinner.

I'm curious to see how it turns out with scales. I'd also be very curious about the heat treat question

Do you want some old files to work with Spinerazor?

I've got quite a few and they're at least decent steel (the ones I've researched) that you wouldn't have to heat treat; just grind a blade out and you're good to go. You're local to me so it'd be a quick drive to drop some off or I can ship you a couple decent sized ones. PM me if you want some.
