i was just at the mall and for the grins of it i checked out where alot of things were made. Most of the stuff at Dillards and Foleys (higher end shops at the mall) was made either in Japan, China, Bangladesh, Taiwan. I couldnt spend alot of time looking because I was dodging mall ninjas at every junction. The places I went didnt even sell knives but i reckon if they did they'd be made there too and would probably want MSRP- for the spydie native $70 something dollars. I cant complain about buying my native at WM for $39.95. By the way my knife says Golden Colo USA Earth! and these high end places were packed as usual at Christmas and I dont feel their business is being hurt much.

What car do you drive? Where was your computer made? Etc etc...

My computer was made over at my son's house. Of course the various parts come from different places, probably all overseas.

Oh, that's good. I hear there have been some quality issues with the Mars-manufactured imports. ;)

Why is all of this "i love walmart" stuff popping up lately?

It's just a store... This is kinda like when my girlfriend starts talking about how she loves this candle shop, or that shoe store, or maybe the bath&body works... Who cares? I start to wish she'd talk about something important.

Knife content: If you buy a nice knife, great. Tell us about it. But I doubt that I'm the only one who doesn't really want to hear "I love (insert name of consumer trap here)."

Peace.

Ha! My wife tries to drag me into those same stores. She loves that crap. If I can't get out of going in the first place, I usually sit in the car and practice opening my knife.

Moving to Gadgets and gear since this has nothing or very little to do with a kinfe discussion or community.

Many years ago (20 or so) the futurist Alvin Toffler said that the US was moving from a manufacturing to an information-based economy. Guess what....
