I ordered a bunch of blanks to play around with. Tonight I made some handles from lacewood pen blanks from my local woodcraft store. I drilled out the holes, and shaped the handle. Then I used some epoxy to secure the handles to the steel.

can't wait to get out and use em :D

Nice!I like the Lace Wood, looks much better than the pallet oak I used on a couple.
Did you hand shape them or use a lathe?

Wish I had a lathe, I used my belt sander(1 inch belt). It was a little tricky since I shaped them before I glued in the steels. The lacewood was pretty cheep, I think I paid $8 for 6 of em, and I only used 1 to make all 3 of those. woodcraft also sells a bunch of other wood pen blanks. They come square so its not the easiest to get them round but it gives you a bit of freedom as far as shape.
