I was wondering if anyone picked up a MAG-200-NH metal dust collector to use with their grinder. Does it have enough suction to make it worth while?

The other issue I was looking at it for was dust collection with my SGA and horizontal grinding. I was thinking of taking some sheet metal to make a backstop with the dust collector attached to it. Looking at the CFM (400 CFM) of the unit, I am thinking it would only catch metal dust going directly to the inlet.

Thank,
CM

I have heard very positive things about the mag 200. I'm curious if you can collect handle dust as well with it. Not so much wood but micarta and bone/antler dust?

I bet it would be pretty simple to add a metal mesh filter to most of our systems. I have one at the bottom of my catch funnel. They come in a lot of sizes. They kill sparks and stop large particles (and dropped things). They are pretty much the same as the filters for grease on your range hood or restaurant fryers.
The MAG-200 uses a stack system of filters. The metal mesh is on the top, a 5-micron coarse particle under that and a 1-micron at the bottom. You pull them out and knock them off outside or vacuum them off.
