The eagle nest was too far for my lens..... I had an intuitive feeling that the Mag Camp could double in a pinch as a fish filleter, and I was right. It works quite well actually, even under less than ideal conditions.

Outstanding post! That looks like a nice, clean fillet.
You've inspired me to have a go at my next catch with a 5.

I'm jealous. Gotta go out fishing. "Go out" means "Go to Sweden" here though. No fish to catch in germany.

what kinda fish is that?

even though it's carbon steel, the BK5 is a fantastic fish knife :)

Post spawn male Northern Pike. When the females recover from spawning and the water warms up a tad, their metabolism gears up and the big ones hit. I go barbless anyway and only kept a few small males for the pics. I touched up the 5 with a Sharp Maker and it did as well as any dedicated filleter. I believe that the Mag Camp is more versatile than some give it credit for. I'll be packing it when the mushrooms come out as it's light and slices cleanly.
