Mag-Lite Solitare

I carry my Solitaire for lighting my way in the basement at work when they shut the lights off on me. I use Energizer E2s(non-lithium), and get about 5' of usable light, in a 1' cirle(at tight focus). It's handy, but not too bright.

I'm getting an Inova X5MT soon(about 2 weeks), and might upgrade my solitaire too, depending on how much better the X5MT is than my MiniMag 2AA.
 
That is a load of crap Rifter, I left my IMO at candlepower about it too. That company won't get any more buisness from me.
 
I have two Maglite Solitaires, and they just plain suck.

If you really want a keychain non-LED light, the Pelican Mini MityLite is superior to the Solitaire.

Otherwise, a Photon Microlight or ARC AAA are much better choices. If you don't mind a slightly larger light, the Surefire E1 or E1e with KL1 LED head is magnitudes better than all of the above. It's my favorite small small light right now.

I picked up a Solitaire once, out of curiousity, and don't even remember what I did with it once I bought my Arc AAA. IMHO, that little Mag cannot compete with my ARC, period. :barf: :barf:

Save your $6 and get an Arc AAA, you won't regret it. ;)
 
I'll just say that the Arc AAA and Inova X5T have replaced "other" like-sized lights for me.

Joining the chorus, skip the Maglite. If the budget just won't absorb an ARC this week, check out the Princeton Tec BLAST. It uses a pair of AAA batteries, but in a side-by-side array so it's short. Has a 'belt clip' built in that I use to clip the light to the brim of my ballcap. This makes it an instant hands free 'headlight', that's proven to be mighty useful. Weighs nothin', costs less than $10, made in America...and to the best of my knowledge they're not involved in any kind of underhanded legal hassle trying to kneecap their competion. Yep, skip the Maglite.

Forget the Maglite Solitaire and purchase an Arc AAA. It is the one light that I carry every day because it is small and very bright.
 
what, nobody has a good word for the SF e2e? form, function, AND finesse :D
