I was just reading a thread on here about an article being in an upcoming SWAT magazine. Got me to thinking what are some good survival type magazines (preferably in digital print) that you guys would recommend? Personally, I have an "American COP" sub, and love that magazine, but it has very little to do with survival and wilderness type situations. Doesn't go into hunting at all. Thoughts?

Not may called "magazines", today they're Blogs. One of the best is James W. Rawles - SurvivalBlog.com . He's the author of several books and keeps his blog updated frequently.

Self Reliance Illustrated from Dave Canterbury and Blind Horse looks pretty promising.

Yea, I have one of his books. Just wondering if that is about the only source of info, or if I am missing something. Plus, always helps to ask people what they know, then you know that plus what you already knew.

I'm not really familiar with this type of magazine but I received an email update from the folks at Blind Horse Knives and they have just started a magazine called Self Reliance Illustrated. It was funny because I received an email with the Self Reliance Illustrated title and at first thought it was advertising from AARP (Association for the Advancement of Retired Persons - I think). I have a few knives from BHK and think they do very nice work so I subscribed just to learn more about the whole subject. Mike

Survival type magazine rarely last because there is usually not enough broad interest in the subject to keep enough revenue coming in to print colored paper. So, inevitably you see survival going to electronic avenues such as blogs and this forum.

I've been a long time Fur Fish Game subscriber. Not really a true survival mag, but lots of great hunting, fishing, and trapping tips and articles.
