fishing 1.5 miles offshore of Corpus Christi Texas at the bob hall standpipe in my 9 foot Malibu mini x kayak. i am fishing in 42 feet of water and managed to land 4 kingfish in under 30 minutes on the same rod/reel, leader and lure. the Rapala X-Rap Jointed shad in silver, which is one of my go-to baits for this kind of fishing..had a great day on the water since the fish were biting and the conditions were impossible to complain about, i put out some baits for sharks after landing some kings, but they didnt show up for me..
