Maglite spike end cap? Who, where?

Hmm, I think it's a cool factor and maybe possible a defense tool? But geez, $20 something dollars for a piece of aluminum it's something I need to digest first!

A glass breaker is not a great SD tool. IMHO, the flashlight by itself works great. If you are looking for something for the purpose of breaking glass, check out this:

Or just pack an ordinary centerpunch.
 
This thread made me think more about the Maglite AA, and upgrading it to increase its performance and versatility.

So... I bought a new Mini Maglite and open belt holster set at a local market, then a TerraLUX TLE-5EX LED Upgrade and an Xcape Cap Glass Breaker Tailcap set from here.

The transformation is remarkable! The light output is very impressive, and with the LED conversion, lithium batteries and the Xcape Cap, the Maglite is more capable and lights brighter and longer, all in all an inexpensive, versatile upgrade.
 
I'd say ebay would be the best...

why not just get a rescue knife that has a glass breaker on the end of the handle?

I have a spring loaded center punch from the ChiCom tool store attached to a 3 D cell MagLight by a section of bike inner tube. It is wedged between the drivers seat and console so I know where to find it. A comment from the 04/05 hurricane season. Every time I set a light down, I would misplace it. I attached a split key ring to the MagLight and SF6P and Nitrilon with a cable tie so I could clip them to my key ring clip. Later I modified my cell phone pouch ( a Maxpedition). I removed the belt clip, and replaced with a nylon/plastic Uncle Mikes LE duty key ring. The clip sits high enough under the pouch it hasn't hooked anything by accident. regards Les

I added the Ultra Clear Glass Lens, which completes the upgrade... For now!
