Me too. I'm under the impression it will be most like s35vn (which is my current fav set of characteristics) with ramped up toughness (might allow more acute edge) and higher stain resistance. Sounds about perfect for my likes.Hi,
Wanted to know how Magnacut CRK performs in real usage vs other steels in CRK,S30,S35,S45..
Thank you.
I really like my S35VN. I’m not sure I’d notice the improvement of MagnaCut but it sure sounds great. I’ll get the blade replaced in my 21 when I wear it out![]()
I doubt CRK will replace 21 blades, at least not in MCut.
They plan to. Info direct from CRK via email. I posted the email in another thread. Probably starting late this year or early next.
Wow that is cool, I have two small 21's I'd like to do.
Will they do insingos as well?
Yes, I've sharpened magnacut, but I use diamond stones, which make quick work of any steel. Sorry for not being more helpful, but could I trouble you for a photo of that 21? I'd like to see what you mean about it wearing away.Any one sharpen a CRK MagnaCut yet? Is it a lot of work? I’ve carried a 21 in S35VN every day for about 5 years now. I sharpen it on a sharpmaker around 3 or 4 times a year. My blade still has a good amount of life left but it is getting noticeably smaller now. Thinking about picking up a 31 in MagnaCut if it seems like the blade will last longer.
