I have been doing my homework on MagnaCut and am going to give it a go on a batch of knives. What I haven't come across yet is the heat treat stability of the knife, particularly how close to a finished bevel would you take the steel prior to heat treat? Any input and experiences would be appreciated.

How close you get to final thickness in grinding prior to heat treatment is mostly preference

Is the steel stable enough to take it close to final thickness prior to heat treat? I ask because as we all know some steels are not, AEB-L will come out like a piece of bacon if you are aggressive with a pre treat grind. Thanks for the input.

Maybe I should ask another way. For those that are heat treating MagnaCut, what thickness are you taking your primary bevels to prior to heat treat?
