Has anyone tried the US Military magnesium snow shoes in the Military Surplus part of Sportsman's Guide?

I have not used the ones in Sportsman Guide.

I have used the exact same thing as issues by the USMC.

I do not have any other snowshoe experience other than this.

I can say that for an inexperienced snow shoe-er carrying a lot of gear they seemed to work well.

I have 2 sets of these, one from sportsmans guide, and one set just like it I got in a pawnshop for $20. Ive spent about 20 hours wearing them last winter. they seem to work pretty good, the bindings arent as nice as the ones in the sporting goods stores with the clips.

I bought them becasue they were the cheapest snowshoe with a high weight limit { i weigh 210 bare, add 10 pound rifle, 20 pound hunting pack and 15 pounds of boots, and hunting clothes and Im over the limit on most shoes, add more to that if I have to pack an elk out} and they hold me up pretty good. I tried my wifes set from sams club and they were too small to hold me up on top of the snow but the bindings were much nicer.

These were our issued snowshoes in SERE Instructor training and we had the option to keep them as Instructors upon graduation. Great shoes. Lots of guys purchased expensive high speed low drag shoes, most came back to the mags.A buddy of mine let me take his new, expensive, lifetime warranty cabellas snowshoes on a mobile trip.... they lasted one day...literally fell off as i came out of the woods into camp.broken bindings ETC. the mags will go thru everything including cedar slash.... cut the ends off a bit past the welds and keep the stubs for magnesium shavings for firecraft, and to move easier without stepping on your tails.
My 2 cents
