magnet latchs???

i was reading about the spyderco model thing. and it said they dont have latches, but use small magnets instead. do any existing not too expensive balis use that now?? if so where can i get one!?????!1

Nope...

I was a fan of the idea at one time, and I still am on a small, 3.5 inch Balisong for Utility Purposes...but not on one that is going to be flipped alot.

Probably a Rare Earth Samarium [sp?] Cobalt Magnet, gold plated, like Bud Nealy uses in his Kydex Sheaths.

well thats interesting... i was planning on just finding some old magnets laying around the house and finding away to stuff them in the handle... boy was am i an idiot

Yep, I have many of those laying around here that are brass plated. I don't know the size of Bud's though. Mine are a 5mm dia. x 1mm thick running 1850 gauss. Think that would hold them?
