ive seen in vidos where some of you guys use a magnet to hold the point end steady while you grind it. where do you get one strong enought to hold it?

You can go to Michaels and buy a stack of magnet and tape them together. As mentioned HF has some small magnets that work well also. Just do not use a strong magnet if you are grinding on the steel platen

Get a half dozen and bolt them every 2" to a 10" piece of square tubing and you will have a great blade holder. Then, I like to wrap a piece of cardstock or paper around it to make it easier to clean.

I use 3 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch round n50's in a piece of wood. That sucker isn't going anywhere.

I bought one from Rade Hawkins about 5 years ago. Heck of a deal (around $20 bucks then)

Can't go wrong with Rade. He is a good guy.

Got mine from Sheffield's. Works great. Honestly, don't use it as much as I thought I would though.

I take hard drives apart for the magnets. They would be plenty strong. I stopped using a magnet to hold the blade cause it kept getting full of shavings. I really like the idea though so I think I'll make a new push stick that can be wrapped with tape or something.
