Magnetic Busse's

while fixing my sunglasses i dropped a small screw in the carpet. in trying to find it i used a pretty strong magnet. never did find the screw but i did find something strange about my busse knives.

i put the magnet away in my desk drawer next to a skeleton key letter opener. the magnet sucked all the paper clips and thumb tacks to it but would not stick to the skel key. strange huh?

about 25% of my busse's will not attract the magnet, the rest stick to it like crazy!

oh well.... i guess i'll see if it sticks to a bottle of vodka....

Hardening causes strange effects magetic wise. Old timers used magetism to determine when a blade was at temp.

That's an interesting fact I did not know about. Something new to play around with. Now I am going to have to try that on all of mine just to see if they attract. Question is, does it mean anything if they do or do not?

I just checked 50+ Busse knives, all magnetic, all the time !!!

This is how I store about eight of them,,,I hang them on magnets on a gunsafe.

Most pure stainless steel is not magnetic.
