Hello Everybody!

It's been a number of years since I as last on here. I want to share with you what I've been working on lately and get some feedback.

This idea started out as a concept for holding a machete upsidedown while mounted to the back. I used a magnet from an old hard drive, they are very powerful plentiful and free. This is my first iteration of this type of sheath, and so far it is working out well. You really have to want to get the knife out.

Has anyone else tried this?

I've got a couple that use HDD magnets one is from Henry Cambron, and one from Cuddy Bear, both are forumites here...

In both cases they inlayed the magnet so it's hidden, very nicely executed. Sadly I don't have any pics of them (the Cambron was a wedding gift to a friend).

If I remember to do it I'll take a pic of the other sheath (it's home to a Wolfs Creek Forge knife) tomorrow and post back.

I've made quite a few magnetic sheaths for upside down carry, especially for small bootknife concealed carry. I use the same magnets but embed them in the leather using 'Shoe-Goo' as the matrix for holding them. I usually use two magnets . I'm curious as to why you didn't remove the magnet from the read-write arm bracket? Was there some purpose to that?
