magnetized fixed blade?

I bought the schrade schf36, 37 and 38 1095 fixed blade knives to beat around with and practice modifying on because of the price, while stripping the coating off of them I noticed that the sos pads pieces were staying on the 37, started checking it out and it's magnetized enough it'll pick up paper clips. For the price and to beat around with it doesn't really matter to me I was just curious if anyone knew why or how this would happen. My other two are just fine.
 
Magnets are sometimes used in the manufacturing process which then can magnetize the blade. You can remove it by finding a degaussing maching [ demagnetizer ]
 
or rub a magnet "the wrong way" along the blade.
works on magnetic paperclips, anyway.
 
Thanks for the info, was afraid maybe had something to do with the heat treat being done wrong.
