So it took me quite a while to get my hands on this one.

I have a thing for mr. Broadwell's fixed blades. And I've always wanted one. So back in 2010 he did a collab with Böker on their Magnum year knife.

Now normally Magnum make the cheap stuff with 440a steel. But every year they do a collectors edition of one knife which is upgraded to 440C with all the trimmings.

Now I had my doubts about whether I really wanted one untill I got my hands on it.

But sometime last year I finally managed to get a hold of one of these....and MAN is it a beauty.

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures I took.

First off it came in a nice box

With a couple of cards/certificates

Then when you move the foam you're greeted by this wonderful sight.

Take it out of the box and marvel at the amazing mirror polish

With the sheath it makes a handsome package

The belt loop is removable and clicks into the main sheath with a press button.

She's a pretty big beast...(I cannot call anything with slick curves like this a he.)

Other cool things that you might not have seen.
The sheath is VERY nicely done. Probably the highest quality leather factory sheath that I've seen.
The handle has a tapered tang and the blade also has a distal taper.
The edges of the tang and the spine are nicely rounded.

Is this knife perfect? Offcourse not but few things are. But it IS probably the nicest factory fixed blade package that I've ever seen. And I'm so happy that I finally got a hold of it.

Hey that's pretty cool. Nicely executed, for sure. Not a fan of sub hilts, recurves, or ivory colored handles, but that does indeed look like a well done knife.

Usually I'm not a big fan of Recurves either. But I like it on this knife. To be fair this one will be one of the very few collectible knives in my collection. But I remember a russian guy giving it a workout when it first came out and it held up very well.

It's made me more aware of what the guys at Magnum can do when they really put their mind to it.
