Busse Folks,

I JUST bought a new Magnum Bear Cub off of the exchange! This is my FIRST Busse purchase and I feel proud to have joined your ranks! The blade should be here in a few days and I am looking forward to trying it out.

A couple questions:

can you recommend some different sheaths I can use for it? I am unsure where the best resources are or how to know which one to get--any input is appreciated!

Any special instructions for the proper care of the knife?

Shaun

I would get in touch with Dwayne and get one of these .

As for caring for your knife only thing i can think of is putting some mineral oil on it if you are going to store if for a long time. Congrats on your first Busse :D Welcome to the gang.

Welcome to the madness!
I would say it depends on if you want leather or kydex?

Thanks! Who is Dwayne and how do I get a hold of him?

Thanks for the welcome! I am thinking a leather sheath would suit me best.

Congrats on scoring your first Busse! You want special care instructions for your MBC? Use it, they love to be used.

Congrats on the first. It won't be the last. Be sure to stop back and post some pics once you get the knife and sheath.

Thanks for all the help folks...

I have received the blade and am going to put it to work and post some pics.

I have contacted a few sheath makers and will order one soon.

What kinda sheath are you going for.

I am leaning towards getting a leather one. I like the warmth and sort of "old skool" style of leather. However, one of the sheath makers that were recommended to me resides in my home state and I like to support my local economy so Kydex it may be!

One Note: Kydex tends to Breathe a bit better and certainly drains well if you carry in the field and encounter wet weather (however the Southwest has been plenty dry lately).
I like the feel of leather and make sure that my blades are oiled before storage in or out of the sheath!!! Nice SCORE and welcome....

I have decided on a Kydex sheath for now... I like the suggestion of getting a leather one as well. I am sure I will some time down the road!

I haven't used/carried it just yet, but I am planning on doing some yard trimming with it and use it alongside my small 21 for daily tasks.
