Hi guys,

I've been looking at this knife for quite a while now, as I really like the design. Knife handles really well too, sheath is kinda meh but ok for the overall price.

Only thing that kept me from buying it so far is the 440(A?) steel.
A colleague of mine is quite happy with his Magnum Investigator, so I guess it ain't too bad. I guess edge holding isn't too great, but how about toughness ?

Anybody have experiences to share ?

Maddogg, the Magnum line is mostly 440A.
According to spec, 440A is somewhat similar to AUS-6, even a little higher in carbon content.
So its probably not that bad, but still not great. Should be plenty tough for harder use, though.

Maybe I'll just have to buy it and try it out. Or does anyone know a knife that is similar in looks, but with better steel ?
