Hey all,
Just wondering what folks feel about the Mags on the FBM.
I have what I think are probably average, just to the small side of average sized hands for a guy my size (5'10 180). I am contemplating buying a FBM from someone, and it has the Mags on it. I am a little nervous that it would be tough for me to hold onto.
Anyone with "average" or maybe slighly smaller hands handles the FBM with the Mags and give some input? I'd also not want the regualr handles, if they are too small, considering the weight of the FBM.

Thanks!

The mags are a bit small for my hand. I take a large to extra large glove if that helps.

Hmmm...really? That sounds promising. I take medium to large gloves.....

I only have the magnums on the FBM but they feel great in my 8.5 sized mits!

Some people have said they like the standards better on a thick knife, but I like the swell in the middle of the grips to give my fingers another anchor point.

Maybe some people who have tried both will chime in, or you could do a search for other threads (they are out there).

Best advice if you are not sure is to get both and sell the one you don't like:)

I am presently waiting on a FBM with magnum handles. I have never held one in my hands. I have used the previous Battle Mistress with the normal handles and, in my opinion, the handles were quite skinny. I would definately go with the magnum. They are more like "normal" handles which one would find on a custom knife. The regular slabs are kinda streamlined for a really minimum statement tactical knife.

My FBM has Mags. Feels great with or without gloves.
I take a large glove size.

The Mags have more defined palm swells. The overall look of the mags is more of an hour glassed shape, than the standard slabs, which have less palm swell.

I don't have any FBM's at the moment but have other Busse with mags and standard scales. I prefer the mags much more. They're more comfortable for my hands.

The magnum handles are better IMO. I have a HOGFSH with standard slabs and plan to send it back for magnums and that is some thick steel. I have medium sized hands and I think my magnums are the minimum I would put on Combat Grade FBM

Both work fine for me but the mags give me a much more secure grip and more control when hacking away really hard. I have medium size hands.
