magnum handles

So kinda new to the busse thing. I'm ordering a CG ASH. I'm on the fence about the magnum handles. I havn't seen them in person. I don't have big hands some were between a medium and small gloves do the magnums feel better is g10 better than micarta. Thanks alot

I have large hands, and prefer magnums whenever possible. That being said, the CG ASH was the largest Mag handled Busse I've purchased until I acquired my Ganza HOGFSH (see my avatar). The CG ASH is already a fat blade being .330, so I think standard may be what you are after.

A lot of the guys here prefer standard blades on users; but I prefer the full-handed feel.

I just recieved my first Busse, a HHFSH, and am thrilled with it beyond belief, but feel it may benefit from Mag scales instead of the standard. Is there some place I can send my new baby to be retrofitted?

I have medium-sized hands and not a lot of meat on 'em. I usually prefer magnum handles. I can't think of one of my Busses where I prefer the standards, though I like them just fine.

I used to be a die-hard canvas micarta lover, but lately I've been leaning towards the G10. I like that canvas micarta is made from...canvas. The Busse finish is extremely grippy with no polish and lots of exposed fibers on the handles. You can oil 'em up if you want better coloring, and they feel really good in the hand.

The reason I'm liking G10 is because the coloring is so good, and the way the Busse handles are cut I don't feel there is any issue whatsoever with getting a secure grip. With other knives that have polished handles I still worry about this, but really I think polished G10 and polished micarta are almost the same in feel.

I still don't really like that the G10 has fiberglass in it, but that's a personal thing.

I have ASH's with both standard and mag. My hands are on the smaller size but meaty I guess you'd say. I prefer the standard but the mags are quite comfortable as well. I like having both.

I too have one of each and have to say the mags are my favorite. While i don't have small hands, I do think the cut of the mags allows a similar grip around the thumb and index finger while the wider palm thickness feels great (natural) and offers better control. YMMV.

I believe you can send the HHFSH back to the shop for mag handles.

I would call Garth next week.

I just got my HH back from the shop. Garth put a sage coat and tan mags. It had black canvas mags before!
