If I get a shot at the Heavy Hearts, I was thinking about one of each scale configuration.

Still, I want to get some opinions on the mag slabs? Ya'll tend to like them? Comfort?
 
I had an HOFSH come thru with magnums on it.

Very nice if you have larger hands. I wish now I would have gotten it for myself, but it went to an up and coming local hog.:thumbup:

The HOFSH with standard scales that came thru at the same time also wasn't too shabby itself.:cool:

I know even now having handled both (for a couple days til they sold) it would be tough to decide on which were I only to keep/have one.

I think you should get both then decide. It's the "hog" thing to do....;)
 
It's apples and oranges all over the place, but I got a Hell Razor with magnum scales because my Satin Jack TAC with regular scales felt a little small. It's hard to say what I didn't care for with the magnum scales but it was enough for me to order another with regular scales. The mags were a better size but the divots didn't seem to fit my XL size hand.

PS - I fine-tuned the grip on an NO-E and I like it best of all.

- I ground off the skull-crusher/lanyard hole extension, moving the point of balance to just forward of the first fastener hole
- polished the edges all around and then
- rounded off the scales a bit (they were quite square to start with).
 
I actually prefer the magnums on the SH even though I don't have big hands.
I'm not sure about the HR though.
 
I've got two HR's:D One with the regular handle and the other with the magnum handle and I prefer the magnum handle. It just seems to fit my hand better with less of a sensation that the knife will twist in my hand. Bottom line is that any Busse feels good:D

The only problem with that is that there are no magnum scales in black paper or snakeskin. If you want either of those, you are locked in with regulars.

ok, here's my take on this....

i'm 6' 1" wear a large glove.
son is 6' and wears a large too.

i like mags on the fsh

i like standards on the hofsh

the heavy heart being right in the middle was designed especilly by jerry to drive everybody totally knuts! er nuts.

my take again, if your knuckles drag on the ground get mags, if you are medium in stature and or wear gloves whilst chopping, get standard.

here's a good test, put on some really heavy gloves and open a can of cbl..... ok, now take off the glove and do it.

ok, now call busse and ask for amy-0 and drink the beer that got opened, thats how i did it....

I'm just a little tiny guy and I like the standard handles...or the mags...:thumbdn:

I've shown this before, but here is an overhead view of my two HOFSH beauties.
One with black paper regular scales and the other an LE with magnum tigerstripes.
They're not THAT different from each other. I like them both.

Buy 'em both, then drill the handles off and throw one of the blades away. That way you only have one knife and both different sized handles. Then you can put on the pair that you like the most, depending upon your mood!!!!:eek:

Well, that's what I would do anyway!!!:D :thumbup:

I've got you covered on this... get the black canvas Mags and some oil, any kind will do. Clean the handles real nice like with some soap and water, dry it off, now apply the oil to the handle completely, don't miss any spots and don't worry about the blade... INFI likes oil. Once your all done she'll be as shiny and dark as black paper and twice as tough. Now see that wasn't so hard...;)

Close, but no cigar. The texture of the paper is part of its appeal. And there is still the issue of snakeskin.
